Driver, Translator

Purpose of the position:

The staff member will be responsible for providing transportation services in Zaporizhzhia as well as other locations. In addition to driving duties, the staff member will also be required to conduct vocal interpretation tasks between English and Ukrainian/Russian. Office location is Zaporizhzhia.

Main result areas/objectives:

• Safe and timely transportation: in Zaporizhzhia and the region and other locations as directed, ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo.
• Interpretation: Provide vocal interpretation services from Ukrainian/Russian to English and vice versa during meetings, events, and interactions with English-speaking individuals.
• Familiarity with Zaporizhzhia and Hramadas: Possess excellent knowledge of the local roads, landmarks, and other relevant information in Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding Hramadas.
• Vehicle maintenance: Ensure that the assigned vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and in proper working condition. Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
• Schedule management: Efficiently manage the daily schedule to meet all transportation and interpretation needs, ensuring punctuality at all times.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with the team and report any changes in schedules or other relevant information promptly.
• Compliance: Adhere to all traffic and transportation laws, regulations, and policies.
• Safety and security: Implement necessary safety measures to protect passengers and cargo during transportation.
• Be able to move through checkpoints safely and effectively, being responsible for ensuring safe passage.

Job requirements:

Knowledge/experience:

• Proven driving experience: At least 5 years of experience as a driver, with a clean driving record.
• Fluent in Ukrainian/Russian and English: Excellent oral communication skills in both Ukrainian/Russian and English languages for vocal interpretation duties.
• Familiarity with Zaporizhzhia: Good knowledge of the city’s streets, locations, and surrounding Hramadas.
• Responsible and reliable: Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility in carrying out all duties.
• Interpersonal skills: Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and English-speaking individuals.
• Safety-conscious: Prioritize safety and demonstrate an understanding of driving rules and regulations.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules or work requirements.
• Valid driver’s license: Possess a valid driver’s license for operating vehicles in Ukraine.

Required competences/skills:

• Previous experience as a translator or interpreter is a plus.
• Previous experience as a driver is a plus.
• Additional language proficiency is an advantage.
