Job description

Gen.Ukrainian is a non-governmental organization that focuses on issues of childhood during war and the mental health rehabilitation of children and adolescents who have experienced profound psychological trauma.

Our mission is to ensure that war does not rob children of their childhood or become a burden on their future. We work to address the psychological, social, and educational needs of affected children.

As we expand our activities, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive PR Manager to join our team.

Work format: full-time, office-based in Kyiv.

Key Responsibilities:

PR and External Communications:

  • Develop and implement PR campaigns, strategies, and roadmaps;
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, press, and bloggers (both Ukrainian and international);
  • Communicate with editors regarding media requests and partnership projects; Maintain an up-to-date database of media contacts and journalists;
  • Pitch informational materials to media outlets; Write press releases, news updates, and pitches;
  • Prepare speakers with talking points, presentations, and media materials;
  • Generate ideas for special projects and manage them end-to-end;
  • Support fundraising campaigns in media and public space;
  • Collaborate with PR agencies (on a project or ad-hoc basis).

Communication Channel Management:

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the SMM specialist, develop content plans and messaging;
  • Ensure consistency in external communications across media and social platforms;
  • Oversee the quality of visual and written content;
  • Maintain an editorial calendar and ensure regular communication;
  • Monitor audience feedback — analyze and adapt messaging accordingly;
  • Maintain a unified tone of voice across all platforms (website, social media, etc.).

Project Activities and Management:

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and proposals;
  • Design, plan, and implement social projects;
  • Oversee the implementation of key initiatives in line with organizational goals;
  • Liaise with contractors and monitor task completion;
  • Identify new informational and communication partnerships;
  • Prepare communication packages for donors;
  • Work closely with internal teams to integrate communications across all areas of activity.

We Expect:

  • Proactivity, initiative, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in PR, media relations, and communications project implementation.
  • Motivation to drive social change and work in a mission-driven setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Ukrainian and English (С1)
  • Experience in communication with partners and vendors.
  • Good skills in writing news, press releases, and analytical or informational content according to editorial standards.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Canva.
