L2 System Administrator

Workload

• This is a full-time, remote collaboration.
• We offer a flexible schedule, but you will be expected to have significant overlap with the Eastern European time zone.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues from L1 support.
• Maintain, monitor, and ensure the reliability of our core IT infrastructure.
• Develop and implement scripts to automate system administration and operational tasks.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across various systems.
• Contribute to the team’s growth by sharing knowledge and mentoring junior members.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in a system administration or IT support role.
• Strong proficiency in managing Linux environments and virtualization platforms like Proxmox.
• Experience with monitoring and visualization tools, specifically Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience managing databases like PostgreSQL and in-memory stores like Redis.
• Solid scripting skills for automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
• C++
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and proxy servers like Squid.
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting complex technical problems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and containerization with Docker.
• Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of advanced networking protocols like BGP.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools.
