SUMMARY
During a year of work at British American Tobacco, I worked in a team of system administrators that supported
a large scale of servers, additionally as part of my responsibilities, I’ve been troubleshooting network-related
issues. I believe this experience may be a good fit to your team as well as it provides me with an opportunity for
further self-improvements in both Linux and network administration.

EXPERIENCE

• As a system administrator, under guidance of my mentor, I was engaged in network troubleshooting and
solving system problems, resulting in substantial amount of issues resolved, including more than 23 critical
ones. The position required familiarity in Windows personal computers and Linux servers management, in
addition to understanding of the principles of network functioning, including, but not limited to, - VLAN,
DNS, SNMP, BGP - further used for troubleshooting and configurations. Throughout my career, was able to
assist resolving 11 network-impacting issues, 3 of which were incidents.

• During my psychology studies, I launched a Linux server to host psychology tests for students. Have de-
ployed a CentOS system, keeping in mind user access and web server best practices, which provided a great
opportunity for some practice, elevating technical experience with more modern software, like Nginx and
Node.js.

• One of the most interesting parts during college was Linux classes, gaining hands-on experience by setting
up and managing Linux servers, working with VirtualBox, and troubleshooting occurring issues on the way.
Software engineering classes helped to further grasp differences in various systems, which required always
having at least one testing Linux machine for testing purposes. Exploring various Linux distributions, setting
up monitoring systems, software troubleshooting and tweaking and managing user access became a ground
knowledge to secure a high grade, demonstrating additionally, besides above-mentioned skills, basics in
Ansible usage, pushing software-specific commands on a few hosts at the same time. Through continuous
learning and practice, have developed a strong foundation in handling Linux environments and improving
system efficiency as well as maintaining it.
