About Me
Hello, I am Ivan Zorenko, and I am 20 years old! I worked as a programmer (frontend
developer) for 5 months. Now I have decided to change my career path and become an
English tutor.
English Level – B1
● I can listen to podcasts and watch movies without subtitles.
● I can read books at the B1–B2 level.
● My speaking is around A2 level, and I’m improving it by speaking to myself every day.
● My writing still has some grammar and vocabulary mistakes, but I work on them
using ChatGPT: I analyze my texts and learn from my errors.
Experience in Tutoring
● I teach my siblings English (two sisters and a brother) and help them with their
homework.
● I also have experience in tutoring math: I prepared two students for the Ukrainian
ZNO exam.
Strengths
● Patience and creativity – My younger brother has ADHD (Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder). It’s not always easy to help him with homework, but I’ve
learned to be creative to catch his attention and be patient when he gets distracted.
● Self-taught learner – I studied programming for a couple of years by myself and
eventually got a job. This experience helped me develop valuable skills such as:
finding resources, staying consistent in studying, preferring practice over theory,
making learning fun and engaging, using AI to get explanations, and representing
yourself in job interviews. I became a teacher for myself — and that definitely helps
me become a teacher for others.
● Love for learning – I try to learn something new every day. I love gaining useful
knowledge, especially about self-improvement, communication, psychology, and
productivity. I hope this passion for learning will inspire my students too
Preferences
● I don’t yet have experience teaching online from a computer, but I’m ready to learn.
● I would prefer to start by teaching children, and later switch to teenagers.
● I am open to discussing my schedule and how many hours per week I can work..
Why Do I Want to Become an English Tutor?
I’ve always loved learning new things. It's one of the best feelings — gaining knowledge that
you know how to apply in real life. When I started learning English at school, it felt hard and
frustrating. But then I discovered YouTube bloggers who explained everything clearly and
made it interesting. I was so thankful to them! That’s when I realized that information, which
once seemed difficult, can actually be learned in an exciting and enjoyable way.
I hope that one day I can become that kind of person for someone else. My main motivation
is to make complicated things simple.
Development Plans
● I plan to enter university with a specialization in English teaching to get formal
education.
Side Project
I created a simple web project for my younger brother to help him learn the multiplication
table. Although it’s not related to English, it shows my interest in education and in finding
creative ways to motivate students.
