Plant & In-service Inspection:

Testing, Leak Test & Witnessing & Interpreting NDT.
 To monitor and verify UT or RT to reinsure the condition of equipment and pipelines.
 Verifying & Co-ordinating all NDT activities in plant, & to co-ordinate repairs.
 To witness, & Interpret NDT & Review NDT reports of Condition Monitoring locations: High Velocity
Lines, Small Bore Connections, Corrosion Under Insulation, Corrosion Monitoring loops & Corrosion
Under Fireproofing.
 Inspecting Painting visually & with DFT meter & to recommend remedies.
 Guiding a team of Mechanical Engineers for the right removal of insulation referring Isometric & P&ID.
 Verifying replacement, &/or repair of corroded pipelines, flanges & equipment.
 Verifying NDT & QC Welding Inspection & authorising the same.
 Witnessing Pressure Testing (Hydrostatic or Pneumatic) of Equipment, & Pipe spools, ensuring proper
method, blinding, & to find leak points, if any.
 Witnessing Pressure testing of Exchangers and to recommend plugging and welding of tubes and Tube
to Tube sheet joint if found leakage and documenting it.
 Pre-cleaning, Post-Cleaning Inspection of Equipment & to verify the integrity of the equipment, & to
recommend repair or replacement if found unsatisfactory.
 Inspecting Columns & Vessels externally & internally (Confined Space).
 Monitoring Condition of:
o Propylene, Hydrogen, Ethylene, and other hydrocarbon pipelines.
o Injection Point, Small Bore Connection, Dead Legs, & Mixing Point/Nozzle
o HPV & LPD, PSV & Control Valves- Upstream & Downstream.
 Inspecting Internal of Columns, Vessels, Exchangers, and Reactors, for overall condition of shell, Tube
bundles, valves, packing-beds, demister or mesh, and trays and to evaluate corrosion, pitting, level of
Contamination & to provide recommendation on repairs.
 Witnessing mockup of Installation of Column Trays, demister & packing beds that are to be replaced.
 To witness & inspect replaced trays for dimensions, torque, alignment, Valve Direction of panels,
Clamps, proper bolts & Washers installed as per drawings.
 Witnessing Leak test of Chimney trays, & seal pan of Columns.
 Witnessing and ensuring proper blinding & de-blinding of nozzles.
 To ensure condition of all Gaskets, serration of flanges & Manholes before box up.
 Issuing Field Inspection Report & Site Inspection note, for any equipment inspected.
 Clearing any equipment inspected for Box Up if found satisfactory.

Welding & Fabrication Inspection:
 Performing all QC inspection activities before, during & after welding in accordance with the Inspection
Test Plan (I.T.P)
 Co-ordinating with NDT Technicians on various technical challenges & support, by applying codes &
standards & to oversee Inspection procedure to achieve the intended resolution & quality in inspection.
 Witnessing welder qualification test & qualifying welders for different metals, thickness
& diameter ranges, & to ensure allocation of jobs accordingly in production joints.
 Witnessing and approving welding activities, verifying welder & WPS/PQR preparation.
 Ensuring WQT, interpreting NDT Reports and Fracture Test to certify a Welder.
 Checking the eligibility of a welder, with process, position & material before raising a request on WQT
 Inspecting fracture test visually for welding defects & penetration, during WQT.
 Monitoring Welding & all Fabrication activities for any quality deviation.
 Verifying Cutting, Gouging, Welding, Grinding, NDT Inspection, Inter-pass Cleaning, Heat Input, &
Material Handling & to inspect joint preparation in various stages of fabrication.
 Inspecting prefabrication & erection of Pipelines for oil manifolds & structures.
 Inspecting all fabrication procedures, against WPS & Fabrication Specification.
 Verifying & Inspecting straightness, alignment, fittings, & levels of pipelines & spools & to ensure
fabrication is done as per the drawings.
 Measuring Bevel angle, root gap, root face & other relevant dimensions as per the joint prepared.
 Checking the calibration &/or validation of Welding Machines, Ovens, Gauges, heat treatment
equipment & thermocouples.
 Ensuring the consumables being used for welding, their proper usage & storage.
 Verifying Material Traceability, Fillers, & Welding electrodes authentication.
 Inspecting tack welds & right usage of strong backs, backing plates & to inspect alignment.
 To monitor & verify applied distortion control methods & to check if there is minimum or no welding
distortion & if the dimensions are acceptable as per the inspection plan &/or dimensional drawings.
 Ensuring the right Pre-heat temperatures & processes are used.
 Inspecting welding sequence, interpass temperature & other criteria.
 Inspecting welded joints for defects, profile & dimensional tolerances.
 Witnessing Post-Weld Heat Treatment and to ensure correct heating-cooling cycles are carried out.
 Verifying Heat Treatment Charts, for the hardness of a material, & for any defects caused due to
residual stress or Hydrogen Induced Cracking & to prepare report on the same.
 Inspecting Post Heat Treatment, & Post Weld Heat Treatment on joints to verify the maintenance of
correct Temperature, Soaking time & Heating-Cooling cycle and reviewing the chart.
 Verifying traceability of a production weld with respective to welder’s identification & NDT inspection
report & also to verify the written log sheet.
 Monitoring & analysing NDT activities & report.
 To report in case of any mandatory repair & to co-ordinate repair activities.
 Maintaining & analysing records for repair rates for fabrication, welded joints & with respective to a
welder.

QA/QC & Quality Management:
 Reviewing I.T.P & to carry out inspection of the equipment, piping and welding as per the I.T.P & to
verify compliance with the applicable codes & standards.
 Coordinating with Management, Fabrication & NDT Department, to achieve quality as per the standard
and quality requirements.
 Involved in developing company’s procedures, Quality Control Plan, Inspection Test Plans & coordinating
with client for their requirements as per followed codes & standards.
 Confirming all quality documentation & inspection reports collation, endorsement & compilation:
checking execution of work as per the applied codes and standard or client’s requirements.
 To monitor & evaluate pressure testing, finding leakage points & to plan & proceed with repairs
according to the followed codes & standards for the material & equipment.
 To keep an update on created NCR & the Corrective Action & Preventive Action (CAPA).
 Reviewing & Preparing WPS as per the required standard & specification & to verify pWPS.
 To ensure that production is carried out as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) & to rectify any
deviations within Quality Management & Production.
 To ensure all welding procedures carried out are as per the WPS, quality & standard requirements.
 Working with the QMS & performing Root cause Analyses (RCA) when required.
 Involved in joint preparation designs & verifying the drawings for Fabrication Specifications.
 To foresee the requirement of Post-Weld Heat Treatment &/or Pre-Weld Heat Treatment taking in
account the material grade, thickness, welding process & consumables.
 Reviewing Procedure qualification record (PQR) when required: for a rectification when a problem arises
or for a change in technique &/or design & to approve if the result adheres to the requirement.
 To oversee if Welding consumables (Electrodes, Filler wire, Gas composition & others) are by the
standard of test certificates & as per the base material grade requirements.
 To raise NCR (Non-Conformance Report) & to track & resolve NCR on the Welding Department.
 Reviewing & updating NCR(s) weekly & to take decisions with the management regarding CAPA.
 To verify certification of welders during production and the validity of their Welder ID.
 Managing & maintaining the required records (welder qualifications, daily welding reports, repair rates,
& weld/welder traceability) as per the requirements.
 Efficiently contributed to the QMS to reduce rejection levels & ensured high quality standards at all the
stages of fabrication by inspecting & maintaining documentation.
