PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

NJSC, Naftogazof Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine 2012 to 2015
Deputy Head of the Section for Cooperation with the EU
Key role in drafting and controlling execution of natural gas transportation contracts from EU to Ukraine. Participated in tri-lateral negotiations between EU, Ukraine and Russia. Lead negotiator on gas trading contracts with EU energy companies: Statoil ASA, RWE, Axpo Trading AG, Trailstone. Prepared bilingual bills and supported the process till the moment of signing acts of acceptance by contracting parties. Used European Federation of Energy Traders and Bloomberg software. Supervised company’s legal activity in Egypt and United Arab Emirates. Responsible for obtaining all necessary import/export approvals, permits and certificates from state authorities.
Key Accomplishments:
•Represented the company in a case at the International Court of Arbitration. Signed settlement agreement reducing payments from $6.5 million to $1.3 million.
•Lawyer responsible for negotiating and signing foreign trade contracts worth €100 million each month.

Senior Legal Counsel

Provided legal advice on the provision of product share, gas sales and concession agreements. Worked with management in negotiations with overseas service companies. Accountable for the investigation and response to complaints from contractors. Performed translations on a wide variety of legal and financial documents.
Key Accomplishments:
•From the start of negotiations provided legal input to supply negotiations with service oil companies and the Egyptian government. These were the first contracts won by a Ukrainian company in Egypt.
•Reduced or removed penalty clauses in one contract worth more than $1 million.
