Administrative Tasks: As the Student Body President I was responsible for administrative duties related to the day-to-day leadership of the Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Council. 1. Responsible for assisting the SGA Treasurer in the facilitation of financial forecasts and forms.
2. Disperse information at a weekly staff meeting.
3. Facilitate the planning and implementation of two heritage events each semester and associated assessments.
4. Perform assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner and meet assigned deadlines consistently.

Support of Policies and Standards: As the Student Body President I was a representative of the College in relationships and contacts both on and off campus. I was expected to uphold institutional and residential standards and policies as outlined in the University’s Student Handbook.
1. I was thoroughly familiar with University’s Student Handbook.
2. I communicated and model the behaviour and policy expectations of the university to the campus community.
3. I confronted inappropriate behaviour when it occurs and take necessary follow-up measures.
4. I assisted with conflict resolution regarding problems among SGA Executive Council members and SGA Senators.
5. I support and do not openly disagree with university regulations. I was quick to listen and slow to speak with fellow students. I seek an appropriate channel to discuss the issue at hand to address the disagreement.

TIME COMMITMENT: Although it was difficult to quantify the scope of a role like that of the Student Body President, I was able to put in at least an average of 20 hours/week. Extra-curricular activities did not conflict with the time needed to effectively perform my assigned duties as the Student Body President throughout the years. The Student Body President is to be available and accessible to the institution’s dean’s office throughout the academic year.
