WORK EXPERIENCE:

ENGLISH TEACHER (AJIDAX SCHOOLS) JULY 2018 – SEPT. 2019.
• As an English teacher, I was responsible for the development of my student’s skills, by giving them the necessary study skills to help them become independent learners.
• Focused on all skill areas (reading, writing, speaking, listening) including grammar and vocabulary, so students develop across the board.
• Worked along with other teachers to organize extracurricular activities and institutional events.
• Organized tests and class assignments, to monitor their progress.

I worked as a dispatcher at upright Beer-distributing depot for a year, it was an enjoyable and memorable experience. I was responsible for:
• Scheduling deliveries and pickups.
• Working in the communications office with other dispatchers, I received calls from customers and assigned drivers to deliver goods to their various locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs.
• Making numerous changes to routes throughout the day as dictated by customer requests and shipment arrangements.
Creating Shipping and Dispatch Documents which involves:
• Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, delivery and pickup times, and truck repairs and maintenance.
• Balancing receipts and keeping stocks of goods.
• Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints and maintaining details of route changes.
Generating Freight Bills and Invoices which involves:
• Creating billing and documents for shipments
• Making sure drivers receive any necessary documents before making a pick up.

HERMES LOGISTICS
I worked for Hermes Logistics as a remote freight dispatcher, my work responsibilities were:
• Recruiting drivers for the company by making cold calls and working as an agent for the company on Facebook and other social media platforms.
• Making sure my drivers get the best loads, rate and keeping them busy 24/7.
• Negotiating with brokers to ensure my drivers don’t get cheated and confirming routes for my drivers before giving them loads.
• Monitoring and tracking drivers while on job, to make sure there’s smooth pick up and delivery.

Requirements for this job were:
• Solid understanding of the US market: fluctuations and adaptations.
• Sufficient knowledge about trucks, contracts with drivers, loadboards and documents concerning loads e.g Hazmat certificate for hazardous loads.
