The EAS School Mission

«The European Azerbaijan School provides each student a diverse and vibrant education in a safe and supportive environment that promotes innovation, creativity, global perspectives, and critical thinking. This enables students to become reflective international citizens who are empowered to flourish globally and contribute fully and meaningfully to their community.»

School Description

EAS is a private co-educational day school founded in 2011 by the European Azerbaijan society (TEAS), a UK registered pan-European organization with representative offices in Azerbaijan, Belgium, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The school is authorized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education but differs significantly from government schools in offering special international programs. The School is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) from September 2015 and is currently seeking official authorization for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The school has grown from the original 95 students in 2011 to our current population of over 620 and includes an Early Years Program (ages 4 and 5 years) in addition to its 1−11 grade program.

EAS for the first time in 2015−16 will be operated on two campuses; the original facility in Yasamal will house the Early Years and Primary programme while the new purpose-built facility in Badamdar will be used for grades 5−11.

While the vast majority of our students are Azerbaijani citizens the school also welcomes students of other nationalities. With regard to our teaching staff a majority are Azerbaijani citizens with strong academic qualifications. In addition, the school has recently hired a significant number of experienced international teachers who serve as classroom teachers, English language support as well as serving in top administrative and coordination positions.

The school is bi-lingual in character supporting both Azerbaijani and English as languages of communication and learning. Support is also given to Russian language learning. In addition to the academic curriculum, EAS helps students at all levels to develop their talents in areas such as art and design, music chess, swimming. A rich co-curricular program in both the primary and secondary divisions gives students the chance to participate in clubs and activities such as team sports such as basketball, football and volleyball, dance, chess, debating, student newspaper, MUN (Model United nations), Music and Pottery.
