Transatlantica Commodities gave me an opportunity to became the successful Shipping / Operation Manager (Handy up to Ultramax) in a stable and known company on the Dry Bulk shipping market. During my job in Transatlantica Commodities, I faced numerous challenges connected with shipping industry, however, despite my age, they have been successfully resolved in favour of the company. My regular duties are:
voyage instructions preparation and coordination with the vessel;
preparation of stowage plans and discussion of the same with Master;
bunker planning and purchasing;
application for disbursement accounts and minimising of the same;
various strategic planning of period vessels;
close liaising with vessel Owns, cargo Charterer, Agents, surveyors, etc;
Laytime calculation;
Claim handling and resolving in close cooperation with company’s lawyers;
hire statement preparation;
foreseeing and preventing of potential losses / claims / etc;
negotiations on Charter party terms prior vessel’s fixture;
voyage calculations for potential shipments of own TC fleet;
good knowledge of market players and ability of market analyse;
wonderful customer service;

Longshoreman/Checker in Gdynia Container Terminal

Since 2005, Hutchison Ports has carried out a number of investment programs at the Port of Gdynia which transformed the former shipyard company into a modern container handling facility. These developments are part of an ongoing process to continuously enhance the capabilities of Hutchison Ports Gdynia (GCT) and its transition toward becoming the region's port of choice.

My functions in the Company were:
-Organization of cargo handling operations;
-Inspection of incoming and outgoing loads;

My work in the Columbia Shipmanagement Co. consisted of:
-Have been involved in operations of the ship including navigational safety, cargo, ballast, tank cleaning and inspections;
-Post fixture shipping operations for oil tankers;
-Maintaining safety standards and procedures;
- Direct contact with ships’ crew, agents, charterers, pool representatives.

In 3 months of work proved myself as a responsible worker, in short terms mastered knowledge to continue working in this position and improved personal practical skills in this area.

Finished the working activities because of the beginning of training at University.
