    Job description

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in farm management, with at least 5 years managing a farm of 2,000 hectares or larger
    • Demonstrated success in developing and managing a profitable and sustainable farming operation
    • In-depth knowledge of sustainable farming practices, including crop rotation, soil management, and integrated pest management
    • Understanding of mechanization equipment — tractors, combine harvesters, planters etc.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a large team
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficiency in farm management software and precision agriculture technologies
    • Highly driven and rugged
    • Highly disciplined with strong attention to detail
    • Strong stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and supervise diverse team members

    Work conditions:

    • Will be located close to the farm in a rural area in Nigeria
    • Company will provide accommodation and motor vehicle (pick up truck)
    • Job can start initially as a short term (4 months) contract that can be converted into a full time job

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for a 3,000-hectare farm, including crop selection, rotation, and irrigation
    • Implement sustainable farming practices to ensure long-term productivity and environmental stewardship
    • Manage day-to-day farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance
    • Oversee and train farm staff, ensuring efficient and effective workforce management
    • Monitor and optimize farm productivity, profitability, and sustainability
    • Maintain detailed records of farm activities, crop yields, and financial performance
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, including landowners, investors, and local communities
    • Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in sustainable farming
