Woodworking Plan Designer / CAD Designer for Event Decor Builds

I’m looking for a skilled designer to help me create professional woodworking plans for custom event decor projects and furniture-style builds. This job is very similar to furniture style design, so previous experience is a MUST.

Most of my projects are things like:

• Backdrop arches
• Event props
• Mobile carts
• Treat walls
• Custom-shaped displays
• Collapsible event decor structures

I already build and prototype these projects myself, so I’m not looking for someone who only knows how to draw in CAD software. I’m looking for someone who can also think logically from a woodworking and construction perspective and help create a professional technical drawings with cut lists, sizes, and be able to think outside of the box to improve the designs if needed.

What I Need

• High-quality woodworking plans and technical drawings
• Accurate dimensions and clean layouts
• Ability to simplify builds and improve structural design
• Understanding of real-world woodworking and assembly
• Ability to create beginner-friendly plans when needed
• Experience designing furniture or woodworking projects

Software

You can use any professional software you prefer, such as:

• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Autodesk Fusion
• SolidWorks
• Or similar CAD/design software

Important

• Can suggest smarter, simpler, and more efficient solutions

• Can communicate clearly and collaborate on ideas

Experience with woodworking, cabinetry, furniture design, CNC-ready layouts, or product design is a huge plus.

This will likely turn into ongoing work for the right person. As for the start, this position is going to be part-time. Paid based on project completion. 1−2 projects a week with compensation of $100 — $300 per project (depends on the difficulty level)
