Project director

Requirements: 15−20 hours per month

Working conditions: Part time remote work, based in they Kyiv Oblast

Responsibilities: Lead our Ukrainian operations. Coordinate with our American operations for the distribution of humanitarian aid and supplies in Ukraine. This will include a once a month meeting with Internally Displaced People to distribute the supplies.

Position Summary:

The Ukraine Director serves as Hope Across Borders' primary representative in Ukraine. This individual oversees humanitarian programs, builds relationships with local communities and partners, identifies unmet needs, and helps ensure aid is delivered with compassion, accountability, and dignity.

The Director plays a key role in expanding our impact and strengthening our presence throughout the country.

Detailed Responsibilities:

1. Program Management

• Coordinate humanitarian programs and aid distributions.
• Organize village outreach, emergency response, and special projects.
• Ensure aid is distributed fairly and responsibly.

2. Partnerships & Community Relations

• Build relationships with local governments, schools, shelters, hospitals, businesses, churches, and nonprofit partners.
• Identify underserved communities and recommend new opportunities for Hope Across Borders.
• Represent Hope Across Borders at meetings and community events.

3. Grants & Resource Development

• Research grant opportunities within Ukraine and Europe.
• Identify in-kind donation opportunities from businesses and organizations.
• Help develop partnerships that strengthen Hope Across Borders' mission.

4. Operations & Communication

• Coordinate logistics, volunteers, and inventory.
• Provide regular updates, photos, stories, social media, and reports to the US leadership team.
• Assist with translation and interpretation when needed.
• Support planning and logistics during visits from the US team.

5. Financial Stewardship

• Track approved expenses and maintain receipts.
• Manage payroll, taxes, bank accounts, and bookkeeping
• Assist with local purchasing and ensure responsible use of organizational resources.

Qualifications

• Resident of Ukraine, prefer Kyiv Oblast.
• Fluent in Ukrainian; English proficiency preferred.
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for humanitarian work and serving vulnerable communities.
• Willing and able to travel within Ukraine as security conditions allow.
