Personal Project
• Built a REST API for a music discovery and rating platform (similar to RateYourMusic)
using Flask and SQLAlchemy
• Integrated Deezer API for real-time search of artists, albums, and songs; persisted results
to PostgreSQL
• Implemented JWT-based user authentication and a recommendation engine based on user
action tracking
• Applied lazy-loading for efficient data retrieval (album song lists load only on demand)
• Containerized the application with Docker and managed DB schema migrations with
Alembic
• Added Redis caching for search results and artist pages, reducing repeated API calls
• Achieved ~75% test coverage across unit and integration tests using Pytest and Factory
