Projects
• RISC-V Core — ASIC Physical Implementation (RTL-to-GDSII): Took a custom 32-bit single-cycle RV32I core from RTL through a fully routed, signed-off GDSII layout on the SkyWater 130nm PDK using the OpenLane/OpenROAD flow. Diagnosed and fixed a synthesis bug where a topology lacking observable output ports caused the optimizer to eliminate the entire netlist as unreachable logic, then resolved floorplan density failures, clock/data-path fanout violations, and antenna-rule violations by tuning synthesis constraints and diode-insertion strategy. Reached 0 DRC violations, 0 LVS errors, and full setup/hold timing closure across all corners; published with RTL, config, GDSII, and a documented signoff report on GitHub.
• Parameterized SRAM Design: Implemented a synthesizable, parameterizable single-port SRAM module in SystemVerilog, configured for 64x32 word capacity with synchronous write and asynchronous read logic. Verified functionality with custom self-checking testbenches and validated the gate-level implementation using Yosys synthesis.
• 3-Port Register File (32x32): Designed a 3-port register file for CPU architectures with two asynchronous combinational read ports and one synchronous write port. Implemented hardwired zero-register logic following standard RISC/MIPS architectural requirements.
• Combinational ROM-based Decoder: Developed a 4x3 ROM module as a combinational decoder. Validated functionality with exhaustive for-loop-based testbenches and verified the generated RTL schematic.
• CMOS Logic Design & Simulation: Designed and simulated CMOS logic circuits in EveryCircuit (AND, OR, NOR, XOR, Majority, Minority, Transmission Gates).
• SystemVerilog RTL Design: Implemented multiplexers (2:1, 4:1, hierarchical), priority encoders, decoders, registers, flip-flops, seven-segment decoder, and Moore/Mealy finite-state machines.
• Verification & Timing Analysis: Developed self-checking testbenches, generated VCD waveforms, and analyzed timing using Surfer.
• RTL Synthesis & Visualization: Synthesized RTL designs with Yosys and generated gate-level schematics using Netlistsvg.
• Workflow Automation: Created shell scripts to automate Verilator simulation and schematic generation.
