MYKHAILO ZINCHUK
UAV ENGINEER

CONTACT PROFILE
[open contact info](look above in the "contact info" section) UAV / embedded engineer. I work where firmware meets hardware: building and
bringing up FPV airframes, writing C for STM32 and ESP32, and reading flight logs
Linkedin to explain what an aircraft actually did.

Kyiv WORK EXPERIENCE
[open contact info](look above in the "contact info" section)
Pet project (in progress)
DroneBench ATE — automated test equipment for 1S FPV drones
SKILLS A bench that powers a quadcopter, spins each motor in turn, records voltage and
current, and produces a pass/fail report. Firmware in C, host tooling in Python
UAV
Betaflight, ArduPilot - mission planner Tech: C11, ESP-IDF (ESP32), STM32 HAL (NUCLEO-F446RE), FreeRTOS, Python,
SITL, flight-log analysis, MAVLink, MSP/Betaflight, UART, ADC, Git

pymavlink Accomplishments:
Designed a vendor-independent core (~2 000 lines of C, no SDK headers):
HARDWARE sampling, metrics, session state machine and telemetry sit behind a 6-function
platform interface, with host and ESP-IDF implementations and an STM32 port
FPV build, soldering, firmware flashing, underway.
Multimeter, logic analyzer, breadboard That boundary makes firmware testable without hardware — 515 assertions
prototyping across 114 cases run on the host in under a second, covering measurement logic,
sensor-failure paths and unit arithmetic
Wrote a versioned line-based telemetry protocol built to survive a mid-session
TEST & TOOLING cable pull, a Python logger, and a report generator whose exit code carries the
Python, Git, Linux, bash, CI/CD, Claude verdict. Validated end-to-end against a simulated fault library. 89 Python tests
Implemented MSP v1/v2 (CRC8/DVB-S2, framing by declared length) from the
spec and used it to prove Betaflight holds a direct motor override through 30 s of
LEARNING silence — closing the project's largest design risk before building around it
C++, Embedded Linux Built and characterised the analog front-end — resistive dividers, ACS724 Hall
current sensor, RC anti-alias filters, star ground — and implemented least-
squares ADC calibration reporting max and RMS residual
EDUCATION
SocialDroneUA — Volunteer FPV engineer
National Technical University of
Ukraine KPI Decentralized volunteer community building FPV drones for Ukrainian military units.
Engineers assemble and bench-test airframes from components verified units are
Computer Engineering delivered to front-line brigades
Bachelor's 2019-2023
Accomplishments:
Master's 2023-2024
Built and delivered 5 FPV airframes (7" and 10", analog video) from components:
frame and motor mounting, soldering ESC / flight controller / VTX / receiver,
LANGUAGES power and antenna wiring
Flashed and configured Betaflight on every build — motor order and direction,
English Upper intermidiate receiver and ESC protocols, arming — and bound ELRS links to the transmitter
Pre-handover check on each unit: motor spin-up, link to the transmitter, short
low hover
