Summary
Computer engineer who builds desktop software for real devices. In about a year of
software work, I built the user-facing side of PC applications for specialized hardware,
first in Python and then in C++ with Qt. Behind that are two years of hands-on
assembly, soldering and testing, so I know what the device on the other side of the
screen actually does. I am looking for C++/Qt desktop or hardware-adjacent roles.

Experience
Computer Engineer Jun 2024 – Jul 2026

I spent about one year on software and about two years on assembly and testing. I
worked on three kinds of products: PC software for a video interception device,
software for a navigator’s field case, and electronic warfare (EW) equipment.

PC software for a video interception device
I built the PC application that displays the device’s video and sends commands to it.
I owned the application side: how it looks and how it responds to user actions. A
teammate built the layer that connects the application to the device.

Software for a navigator’s field case
I read data from several connected devices and showed it on maps built with Leaflet.
I sent commands to the devices and handled data storage.

Python → C++ migration
Both applications were first written in Python. When the company moved all teams to
C++, I rewrote my projects in C++ with Qt.

EW equipment: assembly and testing
I did all the internal wiring: connected buttons, jammer modules, DC converters and
cooling.
I soldered components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, including SMD) on company-
designed PCBs.
I ran functional tests and troubleshooting on assembled units, including
measurements with a multimeter.

Firmware upload tool
I wrote a script that simplifies uploading firmware to STM32-based devices.

I presented my project in person at the Miltech defense exhibition in Kyiv, where the
company showed its work across drones, EW and more.

Scope of experience
Software: I wrote applications from scratch in a team where responsibilities were
split. I covered the user-facing side; device communication was a colleague’s part.

Hardware: assembly, soldering and testing. I did not design circuits and worked only
on the company’s own PCBs.

Microcontrollers: no firmware development. My STM32 work was limited to the
upload tool above.

Linux: basic, from university. I tested how my applications behave on different
operating systems.
