Compliance Specialist

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and verifying carrier insurance compliance requirements. This role ensures that all carriers, vendors, and company records meet internal policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The specialist works closely with Carrier Relations, Safety, Operations, and Sales teams to minimize risk and maintain accurate insurance documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and maintain carrier insurance certificates and compliance records.
• Monitor insurance expirations and ensure timely renewals.
• Review insurance policies for coverage limits, exclusions, and compliance with customer requirements.
• Communicate with insurance agents, carriers, and brokers regarding policy updates and documentation requests/
• Update and maintain carrier profiles in company systems and compliance platforms.
• Audit carrier insurance files for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with onboarding new carriers by validating insurance requirements.
• Investigate compliance discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Generate compliance and insurance reports for management.
• Support internal and external audits related to insurance and compliance matters.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, FMCSA regulations, and customer-specific insurance requirements.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in English.
• Previous experience in insurance verification, compliance, carrier onboarding, safety, or freight brokerage operations.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to review and interpret insurance documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience with transportation industry compliance tools is preferred.
