Additional information

Mykhailo Koval is a highly qualified climate change, UNFCCC and carbon markets expert with extensive managing and legal drafting experience in those areas both nationally and internationally. Until liquidation of State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine, Mr. Koval has served as deputy Director, Director of International Cooperation Department and First Deputy Head of the Agency. Mr. Koval was responsible for UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol implementation on national level, including formulation of Ukraine negotiation position, effective implementation of Joint Implementation (JI) and establishment of national Green Investment Scheme (GIS), elaboration of proposals regarding State Climate Change Policy, drafting of relevant legislations, implementation of EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and others. Mr. Koval was also coordinating multilateral and bilateral cooperation with international organizations, international technical assistance projects (UNDP, USAID, WB, CTF, IFC, EBRD, EIB, EU Delegation in Ukraine, JICA, NEFCO, SIDA and GIZ).
