09.2024- to date "NGO Medair in Ukraine" time:
MHPSS Manager:
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Managing assigned MHPSS projects in Kharkiv to achieve project goals within budget and on
time, and promptly reporting operational issues to the MHPSS project manager
- Assist in the development and implementation of an appropriate and effective MHPSS
strategy, including project planning for responsible project exit in consultation with the
MHPSS PM and Advisor.
- Set clear goals and indicators for MHPSS activities in collaboration with the MHPSS PM
- Monitor MHPSS activities, assessing progress through results and impact, using both
quantitative and qualitative data, involving the MHPSS team (PSSO, PFA providers and
assistants) in the analysis and taking appropriate action, if necessary, to ensure continued
progress and reporting to the MHPSS PM
- Providing suggestions for integrating beneficiary participation and accountability into all
aspects of the project
- Assist in liaising with national authorities, mental health professionals and community-based
organisations (CBOs).
- Coordinate and monitor partner organisations to meet targets and deliver quality services.
- Write monthly reports, ITTs, Activityinfo, project proposals.
- Recruiting qualified employees to fill vacancies. Psychological assessment during the hiring
process.
- Staff training. Supervision.
Personnel management:
- Line management of PSS employees within the framework of assigned projects, including
daily management
- Holding regular meetings to facilitate information exchange between project staff to ensure
that all staff are aware of project goals and current work plans, as well as providing
opportunities for feedback
- Providing coaching and technical supervision to staff to develop accountability for MHPSS
activities
- Assessing the training needs of MHPSS staff and, together with the MHPSS PM, ensuring
that appropriate training is provided
Financial management:
Under the supervision of the MHPSS PM, managing MHPSS budgets for assigned projects in
Kharkiv and ensuring that all budget expenditures comply with financial management
standards, including accountability and proper management
Communication and coordination:
- Develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent and supportive communication
structures with the wider team and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community
leaders, local and national government officials, UN agencies and other NGOs) to ensure
proper cooperation and partnership
- Participate in meetings of the protection, MHPSS and GBV working group, as needed and as
directed by the MHPSS manager, as well as in internal organisation training and other working
groups or meetings, as necessary, representing the organisation and providing feedback to the
PM MHPSS and Advisor on relevant issues.
03.2024-08.2024 "NGO Medair in Ukraine" time:
MHPSS Senior Officer:
- Support the management of assigned MHPSS projects in the East and North (as needed) to
achieve project objectives within the specified time frame, immediately reporting operational
challenges (e.g., anticipated failure to meet objectives, increased beneficiary needs, etc.) to the
MHPSS manager.
- Provide technical input to assigned MHPSS projects, ensuring short- and long-term results for
beneficiaries, local authorities (where required), and local staff.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an appropriate and effective MHPSS
strategy, including coordinating assessments in new locations.
- Direct involvement in the integration of beneficiary participation and reporting in all aspects
of the project.
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting on all MHPSS activities.
- Assisting in establishing links with government authorities, mental health professionals, and
community-based organizations (CBOs).
- Identify key community workers who would benefit from volunteer counseling activities in
vulnerable communities and/or training in basic psychological and psychosocial support, with
the support of the MHPSS Manager and the Protection and MHPSS Project Manager.
- Follow safety protocols and make sure MHPSS staff follow them too.
- Develop appropriate training materials according to specific needs, with the support of the
MHPSS manager.
- Create and maintain a pleasant and supportive working environment with colleagues and line
managers.
- Perform duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interests of employees and
Medair.
- Organize and conduct training on basic psychological first aid (PFA), training for PFA
trainers, PFA in groups, and other relevant MHPSS training at the request of the Protection and
MHPSS project manager.
- Assist PSS assistants and others involved in MHPSS activities with referring clients with
special needs to other relevant specialists and organizations (e.g., individuals with serious and
chronic psychological problems, victims of sexual violence, or those whose needs go beyond
the parameters of the MHPSS program).
- Managing PSS assistants and PSS staff in communities within the scope of designated
projects, including day-to-day management.
- Conducting regular meetings with PSS assistants and PSS workers in communities to
facilitate information exchange within the project staff, ensure that all employees understand
the project goals and current work plans, and provide supervision.
- Model and directly participate in MHPSS activities (volunteer counselling, group work,
psychological education, awareness-raising activities, etc.) with community workers and
MHPSS staff as needed, providing them with timely and constructive feedback to improve
their skills and/or awareness.
- Maintain appropriate, regular, transparent, and supportive communication with other
stakeholders (e.g., beneficiaries, community leaders, local and national government officials,
UN agencies, and other NGOs) to ensure good cooperation and partnership.
- Attend cluster and specialised working group meetings as assigned by the MHPSS project
manager, representing the organisation and providing timely feedback on relevant issues.
05.2023 to 02.2024 "NGO Medair in Ukraine" time:
MHPSS Officer:
Support the overall management of the psychosocial and outreach activities including
coordination of administrative functions in their location/city.
Assist in liaising with national authorities, mental health professionals, and community-
based organizations (CBO).
Maintain strong relationships and ongoing exchange of information with (I)NGOs and
UN counterparts.
Participate in meetings with government entities Case Management Groups and
coordination meetings in close coordination with the MHPSS Manager.
Contact mental health specialists in the given city and list those MHPs interested in
receiving staff support through Medair’s programme. Assist in coordinating these MHPS
and facilitate the development of peer support groups as the program develops.
Through communication with the afore mentioned parties, work to identify gaps/needs
and avoid duplication in MHPSS services.
Assist in assessments and/or research to contribute to understandings of beneficiary
mental health needs.
Build an understanding of referral pathways for mental health within the locality.
Prepare work plans and learning materials required for PSS activities, (awareness)
sessions and services.
Assist in organizing and providing trainings and learning sessions to the beneficiaries
and/or Medair staff and explore possible opportunities for them to enhance their skills
and abilities.
Assist in organizing and facilitating beneficiary psychosocial support and staff support
activities as indicated in collaboration with the MHPSS Manager.
Provide technical guidance on psychosocial activities of the project.
Assist in supervision and coordination of PSS Medair team members in the given
location in collaboration with the MHPSS Manager.
Assist in developing monitoring and evaluation tools and undertake regular field visits to
monitor project activities and implementation.
Actively contribute to timely and quality preparation and submission of the project
documents agreements and project reports on psychosocial activities.
According to the specific project needs contribute to the preparation of regular updates
project summaries and other relevant information materials and statistics.
Within the scope of work perform other duties assigned by the MHPSS Manager.
01.2023 – 04.2023 "NGO Médecins sans frontières, MSF" - "Doctors without

• conducting an assessment of patients' mental health needs and creating a plan for their support
• implementing a protocol on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), identifying possible
victims of SGBV and referring them to medical specialists for the necessary treatment
