Validate the service plan. Review freight details, dimensions/weight, timing,
handling, equipment, capacity,
customer commitments and missing information. Coordinate applicable
requirements and carrier status with Safety
before relying on them.
- Lead daily execution. Coordinate dispatch, shipment planning and carrier
assignments across both control teams;
define accountable shipment owners, handoffs, milestones, escalation
contacts and backup coverage.
- Own operating cost analysis. Develop shipment cost plans, compare
carrier/equipment and service alternatives,
and examine expected margin with Controller's definitions. Compare actual
costs to plan, explain variances and
act on avoidable costs, rework and service failures.
- Integrate Mission Support. Ensure tracking, shipment documentation,
customer updates and billing preparation
reflect actual execution, changes and agreed charges. Resolve missing
delivery evidence and cost information
with the control teams.
- Coordinate specialty work. Connect Ground Control with WAG field
commanders for planning and execution
coordination without changing reporting lines. Align Air Control tendering,
airport handoffs and specialty-delivery
needs with the customer plan.
- Develop capable teams. Standardize shared dispatch and coordination
practices, teach specialty differences,
review work quality and correct gaps with HR and Safety. Supply sales with
accurate capacity, service and cost
constraints.
