Head of legal department

Our client is an innovative IT startup operating in Web3 and AI, currently recognized as promising and dynamic sectors of our time. Our focus lies in investing and speculating in Web3 technologies, and we are gearing up to test earning hypotheses through the development of AI agents.

We seek a Head of Legal to establish and lead a systematic approach to legal activities within the organization, transforming it from a team of 2 legal advisors to a spinoff Web3 law firm.

Responsibilities:

Implementation of the Company’s Legal Strategy:

• Safeguard company interests, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Company formation and operations setting based on the goals set
• Outline regulatory frameworks in chosen jurisdictions, update compliance records, and engage legal and financial consultants for ongoing support
• Establish candidate vetting criteria, craft employment contracts and NDA templates, and furnish legal advice to employees

Supporting Ongoing Business Operations:

• Set a comprehensive base of companies we serve with detailed instructions to ensure flawless performance
• Provide quarterly reports on the status of client companies
• Establish and manage the Legal department
• Oversee day-to-day legal activities

Building Our Reputation as Competent Legal Professionals:

• Develop a legal media strategy along with the company marketer

Transformation of the Legal Department into a Web3 Law Firm:

• After the successful implementation of the previous stages, explore the development of the legal department into a specialized Web3 law firm

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in the legal domain, including 2+ years of managerial expertise in the field
• Background in commercial, investment and international corporate law, with a focus on startups
• Ambitious and driven by self-development and company expansion
• In-depth knowledge of international law in Web3 and information technologies
• Familiarity with laws and regulations governing financial operations, securities, and financial instruments
• Deep understanding of tax aspects and the ability to develop compliance strategies
• Knowledge of information security standards and practices.
• Proficiency in collaborative tools (e.g., Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, 1Password, Miro)
• Proficient in English (B2 level or higher)
• Availability for business travels abroad

Will be a plus:

• Proficiency with legal aspects of AI and VR
• Strong personal brand as a Web3 legal authority in media/social media
• Experience as a lecturer, speaker and educational content creator
