I would like to introduce myself as Piyush Saraf . My family has been in the business of steel trade and manufacture since 40 years. While growing up in the family business I was exposed to conversation on the local economy and the global economy in general and the impact of one over another, This developed a great desire for business management.

Education Background:

My schooling and my travel abroad in various countries provided me with sufficient international exposure aware of my natural instinct to become an entrepreneur, I decided to pursue my further studies in management which has provided me necessary skills in nurturing my ambitions thinking of my becoming a successful business man .I did majors in entrepreneurship and management. The courses which I had taken in the first year were economics. Accounting, Management Science, and Management. The courses which I had in my second year were supply chain management, Management, Entrepreneurship, and franchising. I graduated from Lancaster University, UK in the year 2010 with B.A. Entrepreneurship and Management.

My university (Lancaster University,Uk) has a record of cultural excellence and high profile academia. My university has given me the right exposure to develop my skills and talents.

Sports background:

I have a great passion for sports and I have won several awards in squash.My participation in national and state level has helped me reach great heights.Having an inward zeal for sports I have represented my university in many disciplines.I have been active participant in the Territory Army (liverpool university officer training corps).

Cultural and social activity:

I have been involved in many societies in the university such as Latin American, Italian, Spanish etc which has given me the global and truly international exposure. In the year 2007 I had the opportunity to organise a Charity fashion show at my University where we raised 2000 GBP ( Great British Pounds) and donated to Breast Cancer Research foundation ,London. It was an immense learning experience.

Work Experience:

A) All round Forwarding & Logistics

In the year 2008 I was working as an intern in AFL (All-round forwarding and logistics) in Antwerp (Belgium) as a trader for the company, dealing in ferrous metal scrap and secondary products.
During my stay in Belgium I developed my contacts and relationships with the recycling companies in Belgium/France, UK and the United States.

The reason why I choose to work in a logistics and shipping company in my third year because I have always had a passion for international trade and business (import and export) and furthermore it would also help me gain additional knowledge in the area of shipping as it is one of the key factors in international trade business.

My role in the company was also to establish contacts with the suppliers, clients, agents in India as AFL wanted to start a logistics platform in India.

In order to establish a platform in India I organised a conference meeting in India by inviting all the potential members in the field of logistics and shipping. Contacts were established through in-depth research via different search engines. The main objective of the conference was to spread the knowledge and awareness of AFL and the world famous port of Antwerp which not many people were aware of.
The conference was arranged in a hotel over a dinner meeting. It was all arranged and planned by me. I also gave a presentation/speech about AFL and the port of Antwerp.

Besides the above role in the company, During the first few weeks I was introduced to AFL and the port of Antwerp via visits, presentations/speeches made by the employees of AFL where I had the chance to make notes on important issues and subjects which in turn was very helpful when I had to make presentations on AFL and the port of Antwerp during the conference meeting in India. I was made familiar with the international shipping terms and rules and regulations, how to prepare an invoice, rate calculations, and commercial follow up, negotiations etc. which was very fascinating.

B) DDS STEEL INTERNATIONAL UK LTD

DDS Steel International UK ltd was set by me in the year 2007. Alongside my education I wanted to work for myself. The role of the UK Company is to build high quality relationships with the UK suppliers (Metal recycling companies). It would also ensure that the day to day administration is carried out in such a way that buying prices are minimised, the supply chain operates smoothly and supply lines are made as secure as possible.
