`arche nova — Initiative for people in need` is a religiously independent non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Dresden, Germany, working in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development. Our primary focus is Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Further information about the organisation: www.arche-nova.org

Since 2016, arche nova has been active in Ukraine, supporting the affected population in Donetska and Luhanska oblasts. With the full-scale war outbreak in February 2022, the organisation has expanded its relief program in Ukraine, responding to the unprecedented humanitarian crisis.

For the implementation of the arche nova relief measures, we are looking for MEAL Coordinator (national position).

Duration: until the 31st of December 2026, with the possibility of extension

Position to be filled: ASAP

Duty station: Kyiv, with regular field trips to the project sites

Contract: labour, with an 8-week probation period

Responsibilities:

• Managing the MEAL system to ensure the quality of the relief programme in line with humanitarian standards, donors' requirements, Clusters' guidance and project objectives

• Ensuring the data collection and analysis throughout the project cycle to enable evidence-based programming and to ensure corrective actions are in place

• Developing, updating and applying data collection tools, methodologies and plans

• Contributing to accountability to the affected population by overseeing a transparent and effective feedback mechanism

• Conducting regular field visits to the project sites to monitor the implementation of the relief measures

• Collaborating with the implementing partners' M&E departments to ensure effective monitoring systems and tools are in place

• Supporting the Country Representative (CR) in planning and monitoring projects, including developing the logframe

• Preparing regular M&E reports for the programme management team

• Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with local authorities, donors, partners, contractors and service providers

• Performing other relevant duties as and when required

Requirements:

• Degree in relevant fields (Statistics, Social Science, etc.) or 3 years of demonstrated experience in data collection and project monitoring

• Solid knowledge of the project cycle management

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team

• Ability to work under stress

• Good command of Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory

• Strong managerial and self-organisational skills

• Readiness for regular field trips bearing security and access considerations foremost
