Job Title: Internal Auditor

Job Location: Zhylianska Street, Kyiv

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit — Europe, this position is expected to effectively deliver and participate in key strategic internal audits, including audits of; Operations, Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, and various other functional processes as needed, as well as any other audits required by the Ukrainian regulator or Supervisory Board. The role also includes relationship management responsibilities, including maintaining effective communications with senior in-country leaders and preparing and presenting papers for the local Risk, Audit and Compliance Committees, Supervisory Board, and other Committees as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute audit assignments and projects as part of a team, or independently for less complex or routine activities and projects;
  • Effectively communicates audit findings and develops resolutions with key stakeholders within Internal Audit and business management;
  • Prepares reports of audit findings for business managers, and proposes recommendations for changes as needed;
  • Tracks and follows up on open issues and key business initiatives;
  • Consults with clients on implementing project management improvements and good practice;
  • Participates in and manages audit projects, completing assigned tasks and responsibilities within the assigned budget and timeline, and explaining variances;
  • Prepares presentations and reports for senior audiences and Committees;
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with auditees and stakeholders;
  • Maintains and updates audit information on audit management tool;
  • Maintains an ongoing relationship with key business contacts, keeps abreast of changes to the business.
  • Report to the local Supervisory Board on a quarterly basis audit activities including audit plan progress.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Certified as a CPA, CIA, ACA or ACCA designation. Experience in the Claims, Underwriting, Operations, Risk and Compliance functions of an Insurance company will be viewed as beneficial;
  • 2−3+ years audit/finance experience, public accounting and financial service industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working in financial services industry with a focus on Insurance, a plus;
  • Competent knowledge of generally accepted audit standards, IIA standards and Corporate Internal Audit standards;
  • Understanding, knowledge, and experience of the full audit lifecycle from planning to close out, including documentation, report writing and analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Good knowledge of English both in speaking and writing.
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of staff;
  • Strong data analytics skills and knowledge of CAATs and ACL techniques are beneficial;
  • Willingness to travel (circa 5% percent). The role is based in Kiev with limited travel required throughout the Europe Region
