Video Editor

Responsibilities

• Edit short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) for content makers, campaigns, and branded content — from raw footage to final delivery.
• Assemble and enhance footage: cutting, pacing, syncing with sound, applying transitions, color correction, and light sound design.
• Add motion graphics, captions, text animations, and effects to strengthen storytelling and retention.
• Ensure platform-specific optimization — correct aspect ratios, subtitles, hooks, and pacing for each social media platform.
• Maintain consistent brand identity across all videos, including color grading, typography, tone, and editing rhythm.
• Collaborate with the creative team (producer, director, marketing, and client managers) to interpret briefs and deliver edits that match the creative vision.
• Work with music and sound — choose or synchronize soundtracks, manage levels, and enhance overall emotional tone.
• Implement feedback quickly and effectively, maintaining version control and clean project organization.
• Stay updated on editing trends and bring fresh creative ideas, transitions, and styles to keep content visually engaging.
• Deliver multiple edits under tight deadlines while maintaining top-quality standards.

Must-have skills

• Awareness of social-media trends and platform nuances (hooks, watch time, retention, subtitles, aspect ratios).
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro — confident in editing short-form vertical content efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion design and simple graphics.
• Strong sense of pacing and rhythm — ability to build dynamic cuts that match music, trends, and emotional beats.
• Understanding of color correction, sound mixing, and light balancing to ensure a polished and professional finish.
• Creative storytelling through editing — ability to enhance emotion, humor, or tension with editing techniques and effects.
• Ability to adapt to different styles — from cinematic storytelling to fast-paced meme-style editing.
• Attention to detail and reliability under deadlines — consistently delivering clean, high-quality edits on time.
• Collaborative mindset — comfortable receiving feedback and implementing creative notes efficiently

Nice to have skills

• Familiarity with AI tools for editing (auto-captioning, sound cleanup, or visual enhancement).
• Experience with motion graphics and animation beyond the basics.
• Knowledge of social media algorithms and engagement optimization (CTR, retention)
