    Junior 3D Animator (UE5 / MotionBuilder / Maya / Blender)

    About us

    Farom Studio is looking for a talented Animator to join our team.

    You will be responsible for bringing characters and creatures to life in Unreal Engine 5 projects, working with both gameplay and cinematic animation.

    Responsibilities

    • Create high-quality character and creature animations.
    • Work with MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender, and Cascadeur.
    • Animate and integrate MetaHuman characters into UE5.
    • Collaborate with designers, riggers, and tech artists to ensure smooth animation pipelines.
    • Optimize animations for performance without losing visual quality.
    • Contribute to cinematic sequences and gameplay interactions.

    Requirements

    • Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, posing, anticipation).
    • Solid experience in MotionBuilder (core tool).
    • Confident use of Maya and/or Blender.
    • Experience with Cascadeur and physics-based animation.
    • Ability to work with Animation Blueprints (state machines, blend spaces, notifies).
    • Knowledge of motion matching / motion warping locomotion systems in UE5.
    • Skills in retargeting and rig adjustments between MetaHuman, UE Mannequin and custom skeletons.
    • Experience creating and refining animations for MetaHuman characters.
    • Experience in facial animation for MetaHuman (lip sync and emotions via Control Rig, MetaHuman Animator, ARKit/Live Link Face, or NVIDIA Audio2Face).
    • Ability to work in a team and adapt to feedback.

    Nice to have

    • Previous experience in game development projects (indie or AAA).
    • Knowledge of mocap hardware/software and cleanup.
    • Familiarity with rigging and skinning.
