Equipment Manager — Job Description

The Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the condition and integrity of all company tractors and trailers. This role includes reviewing and analyzing photos submitted by drivers during truck and trailer swaps to identify any damages, defects, or maintenance needs. The Equipment Manager ensures proper documentation, reports issues promptly, and coordinates with the Fleet and Safety departments to prevent equipment misuse and reduce repair costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Review incoming pictures of tractors and trailers during driver swaps or equipment changes.

Identify and document damages, defects, or missing equipment.

Track equipment condition history and maintain accurate records.

Communicate findings to Fleet, Safety, and Dispatch teams.

Ensure drivers follow proper photo procedures and equipment inspection protocols.

Assist with scheduling repairs, reporting claims, and preventing repeat equipment issues.

Help maintain overall equipment compliance and asset protection.
