Safety Assistant (night shift)

About the Role: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Safety Assistant to support our transportation safety and compliance operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with motor carrier compliance, safety documentation, and regulatory filings in a fast-paced logistics or trucking environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor driver performance and flag compliance risks.
• Coordinate driver safety meetings, trainings, and renewals.
• Track key compliance deadlines including medical cards, license expirations, etc.
• Prepare and maintain up-to-date binders for each unit and driver, including inspection reports, maintenance records, and required documents.
• Handle permit applications, renewals, and updates for states including NY, NM, KY, OR, and CARB (1 & 2).
• Maintain a permit tracking system and ensure compliance at all times.
• Create and maintain DQ files according to FMCSA regulations.
• Ensure all documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with safety audit preparation
• Knowledge of ELD systems
• Experience with safety training or onboarding drivers
• Bilingual is a plus
