Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is currently looking for Finance Officer to support PAH activities aimed to enhance localization effort.

Direct supervisor: Country Finance Manager
Job terms: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with a 3-month probation period
Starting date: February-March
Purpose of the Position
- The Financial Officer provides support of implementing partners starting from onboarding till creation of finish report, providing capacity building with partner in finance questions. Take part in the in the allocation procedure, verifying costs booked in ERP system, supporting accountants in this respect. Working with of log-sheets of drivers and compiling monthly reports of petrol usage in context of projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting onboarding for partners regarding financial reporting and principles and terms of cooperation with PAH.
- Creating a BMT working tool (Excel file with logical formulas and automated fields) for partner reporting.
- Partner consultation on reporting
- Checking the primary documents and contracts of partners for compliance with the terms of the agreement with PAH and the absence of corruption schemes.
- Partner consultation on corrections and informing about the ways to correctly make changes to packages/vouchers.
- Acceptance of the partner’s monthly reporting.
- Creation of a «Booking Note» on the partner’s monthly expenses.
- Check the partner’s expense plan, and if necessary, adjusting them with the partner.
- Ordering funds, according to the partner’s needs according to the expense plan for the period.
- Conduct consultations for the partner on financial reporting issues and issues related to reporting.
- Conducting additional meetings with the partner, such as Capacity Building, preparing materials for the partner’s further work, as an aid for the further development of PAH’s Partnership activities.
- Checking the monthly route/report/checks submitted by the logistics team
- Creation of vouchers for the report book.
- Formation of reporting packages for the report book
- Verifying costs booked in Dynamics 365 Business Central, Excel, etc in terms of nature of expenditure, description, legibility.
The successful candidate will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:
- Preferably Diploma in finance/accounting/economics or other relevant field;
- Knowledge in the financial sector and experience in relevant positions (finance specialist, accountant), preferably in the non-governmental sector;
- At least 1 years of experience in financial processes under dynamic and challenging operating environments;
- Good understanding of accounting and finance procedures is a must (the candidates will pass a test);
- Proven ability to manage a complex and demanding workload;
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
- Results orientation;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
- English (Pre-Intermediate), ability to write in English.
- Written and spoken Ukrainian;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, promoted user of Excel (the candidates will pass a test);
