Lawyer / Legal Officer

Location: Poltava

Contract Type: Full-time

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Lawyer / Legal Officer provides legal support to the organization by preparing and reviewing agreements, ensuring compliance with local legislation, managing labor and HR-related legal processes, and coordinating with local authorities and partners. The role ensures that all organizational activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Contract and Legal Documentation

  • Draft, review, and update supply agreements and other contractual documents.
  • Prepare and review Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with local partners and local authorities.
  • Provide legal advice on contractual obligations, risks, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure contracts and agreements comply with national legislation and organizational policies.
  • Maintain proper records and filing of legal documentation.

Regulatory Compliance and Coordination

  • Liaise and collaborate with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Support registration and legal compliance procedures.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise management accordingly.

Labor Law and HR Legal Support

  • Prepare, review, and manage employment contracts and HR-related legal documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation and employment regulations.
  • Provide legal guidance on HR matters, including hiring, termination, disciplinary procedures, and internal policies.
  • Support the resolution of labor-related issues and disputes.

Legal Advisory

  • Provide legal advice to management on operational and organizational matters.
  • Identify legal risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Support development and review of internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University degree in Law.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, labor law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with local authorities, partners, and public institutions is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Languages

  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English

  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination abilities.

Contract Conditions

  • Duty Station: Poltava, Ukraine
  • Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week).

Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding.

Probation Period: 2 months.

  • Salary: Net 850 — 1100 EUR per month.
