Division of «Polish Humanitarian Action» in Ukraine (PAH) is currently looking for Partnership Security Coordinator to support implementation of the projects.

Division of «Polish Humanitarian Action» in Ukraine (PAH), Warsaw-based international non-governmental organization with representation office in Ukraine

  • Position: Partnership Security Coordinator
  • Location: Kharkiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kyiv
  • Job terms: full-time
  • Type of job: employment contract
  • Starting date: March 15, 2026
  • Duration: 12 month contract (3 month of approbation period) with possibility for extension

About PAH:

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is an international non-governmental organization which since 1992 has been providing humanitarian and development help worldwide. So far, the interventions have been carried out in 46 different countries. By possessing long-standing expertise in the implementation of projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, as well as Nutrition and Education, PAH concentrates its global activities on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises.

PAH has been present in Ukraine since August 2014 delivering humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable of the conflict-affected population. PAH provides assistance to internally displaced people, elderly and single mothers, working in the sectors of food security protection and livelihoods. PAH Ukraine is currently expanding programming from humanitarian to both early recovery and development-oriented interventions that provide sustainable livelihoods opportunities to the affected population.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Security Risk Management & Contextual Analysis

  • Conduct security risk assessments for partner organizations, identify vulnerabilities, and provide actionable recommendations to reduce risk exposure.
  • Monitor contextual developments affecting partner operations and produce scenario-based analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure partner security procedures remain updated and relevant to evolving threats and operational needs.

2. Capacity Strengthening & Partner Support

  • Support partners in developing, reviewing, and implementing security plans, SOPs, and contingency procedures.
  • Delivery targeted security training to partner staff, including field awareness, incident response, communication procedures, and field trips management.
  • Advise partners on integrating security considerations into programme planning and operational activities.

3. Incident Management & Emergency Preparedness

  • Assist partners in planning for, managing, and reporting security incidents and emergencies.
  • Coordinate with Global Security and Safety Advisor, HQ, and the Country office Security Team during partner-related incidents.
  • Facilitate development, testing, and improvement of partners' contingency and business continuity plans.

4. Coordination, Networking & Representation

  • Maintain regular communication with partners to ensure alignment with programme-wide safety and security standards.
  • Represent the organization in humanitarian security coordination networks to share updates, best practices, and relevant information benefiting partners.
  • Serve as a security liaison point between partners, the PAH programme, and the Security Department.

5. Systems, Reporting & Compliance

  • Provide technical guidance to partners on communication systems, tracking tools, and information management related to safety and security.
  • Support the development and improvement of the Security Department’s online platform and digital resources for partners.
  • Draft analytical reports, assessments, and guidance notes to enhance partner security knowledge and compliance.
  • Assess partner-related security equipment needs and support the planning of replacements, upgrades, or acquisitions.

6. Quality Assurance and Organizational Standards

  • Ensure partners understand and adhere to organizational security protocols, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the onboarding, and professional development of partner-facing security focal points where relevant.
  • Advocate for and model the organization’s core values, accountability standards, and culturally sensitive working practices.

7. Additional Duties

  • Provide security briefings for visiting partner staff or organizational representatives; escort visits when required.
  • Perform other tasks required to meet programme objectives or emerging operational needs.

Partnership Security Coordinatorwill be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Crisis Management, International Relations, or another security‑related field.
  • 3−5 years of experience in security risk management, preferably with NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments, developing security plans/SOPs, and supporting incident management.
  • Experience delivering security or safety training.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian security risk management and operational contexts.
  • Ability to produce clear analytical reports and contextual assessments.
  • Knowledge of basic communications and tracking systems
  • Strong interpersonal, advisory, and coordination skills.
  • Fluency or strong proficiency (B2) in English;
  • Willingness to travel within the country when required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Additional professional certifications (e.g., Security and Safety, HEAT training).
  • Experience working directly with local partners in capacity‑building or advisory roles.
  • Prior work experience in Ukraine or similar complex/conflict‑affected environments.
  • Experience with digital security platforms, information management tools, or online resource development.
