Division of «Polish Humanitarian Action» in Ukraine (PAH) is currently looking for Security Coordinator to support implementation of the projects.

- Job terms: full-time

- Starting date: March 5, 2026
- Duration: 12 month contract (3 month of approbation period) with possibility for extension
About PAH:
Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is an international non-governmental organization which since 1992 has been providing humanitarian and development help worldwide. So far, the interventions have been carried out in 46 different countries. By possessing long-standing expertise in the implementation of projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, as well as Nutrition and Education, PAH concentrates its global activities on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises.
PAH has been present in Ukraine since August 2014 delivering humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable of the conflict-affected population. PAH provides assistance to internally displaced people, elderly and single mothers, working in the sectors of food security protection and livelihoods. PAH Ukraine is currently expanding programming from humanitarian to both early recovery and development-oriented interventions that provide sustainable livelihoods opportunities to the affected population.

Job Responsibilities:
- Experience in security operations, incident management, and training delivery within humanitarian or international settings is essential.
- Manage and support the Security Team in developing and implementing security strategies and protocols to protect personnel, facilities, assets and information systems aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensure policies are reviewed and updated to reflect changing context.
- Conduct security risk assessments, identify gaps and provide practical recommendations to reduce vulnerabilities.
- Advise field teams on operational security measures and support the integration of security considerations into Units' planning.
- Assist with planning and managing security incidents and emergencies, ensuring timely coordination and communication.
- Liaise with HQ and the Global Security and Safety Advisor and act as a key member of the Incident Management Team
- Support the development and rehearsal of contingency plans, and implement lessons identified.
- Ensure programme-wide understanding of, and adherence to security protocols, including coordinating and delivering security training.
- Maintain relationships with international external security networks and international humanitarian organizations to share best practices and adjustments to contextual developments.
- Provide technical advice and guidance in alignment with HQ policies and procedures and provide recommendations.
- Support and develop the online platform and digital resources of the Ukraine Security department.
- Providing scenario-based analysis and operational guidance.
- Conduct security briefings for guests and staff visiting from abroad/other regions. If needed, escort on trips.
- Advice on communication systems across the programme.
- Draft and publish reports, documents, and recommendations to strengthen knowledge, skills, and compliance.
- Assess security inventory and other physical resources, and assist with its replacement, upgrade, or addition.
- Assist with the recruitment and professional development of security specialists.
- Work within the framework of PAH’s core values and standards.
- Ensure familiarity with and adherence to all PAH policies and procedures.
- Carry out the role with cultural sensitivity and in full compliance with the local legal framework.
- Carry out any other duties as directed to meet programme standards and operational requirements.
Security Coordinator will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in security management within an INGO or humanitarian context.
- Proven capacity to conduct contextual analysis and detect evolving risks.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to work independently and cope with stressful situations.
Desirable Qualifications
- Country-specific experience in Ukraine.
- Demonstrated experience in staff training.
- B2 level in English language.
