UAC & Claims Manager (Odesa) | MSC Ukraine

MSC Ukraine is looking for a UAC & Claims Manager to lead a critical function protecting the business from financial and operational risks. You will drive prevention and resolution of complex UAC and Claims cases, lead a professional team, and work closely with MSC global teams, ports, terminals, customs and other authorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and develop the UAC & Claims team; set priorities and ensure timely case resolution.

• Prevent UAC/claims exposure by daily pre-screening import/export bookings and taking early actions.

• Monitor «discharged but not released» shipments and manage risk cases proactively.

• Manage UAC end-to-end: notifications, coordination with clients/agents, re-export, disposal/destruction (where applicable).

• Handle cargo & non-cargo claims: registration, evidence collection, formal notices, coordination with HQ/legal.

• Represent MSC in negotiations with terminals, port authorities, customs and other stakeholders.

• Coordinate with HQ, POL/POD agencies and internal departments to ensure smooth case handling.

• Track KPIs and prepare weekly/monthly reports with risk insights and improvement recommendations.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 3−5 years in shipping/logistics with hands-on exposure to claims / risk / disputes (UAC experience is a strong advantage).

• 2+ years in a managerial/supervisory role with proven people leadership and cross-functional coordination.

• Strong understanding of container shipping operations, documentation and cargo flow; good awareness of liability/risk drivers.

• Confident negotiator with external stakeholders (clients, terminals/ports, customs, service providers).

• Strong analytical mindset: KPIs, exposure tracking, trend analysis, structured problem-solving.

• English B2+ and Ukrainian — confident spoken and written communication.

• High ownership, resilience, ability to prioritize and make decisions under pressure. * Eligible for local employment in Ukraine
