VB.NET Developer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled VB.NET Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance business applications built on the Microsoft .NET platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VB.NET, database development, software troubleshooting, and application support, with the ability to work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using VB.NET and the .NET Framework / .NET platform.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing legacy and enterprise systems built in VB.NET.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database integrations.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, business analysts, and end users.
• Support deployment activities, system upgrades, and release management processes.
• Prepare technical documentation for applications, workflows, and support procedures.
• Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a VB.NET Developer or Software Developer in Microsoft environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • VB.NET
  • .NET Framework / .NET
  • ADO.NET, Entity Framework, or related data access technologies
  • SQL Server and database programming
• Experience with Windows Forms, Web Forms, or enterprise desktop/web applications.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and maintaining legacy systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, Azure DevOps, or TFS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C# in addition to VB.NET.
• Familiarity with ASP.NET, web services, REST APIs, or SOAP integrations.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or jQuery.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Experience with cloud or hybrid environments is a plus.
