Are you a creative thinker and are you passionate about storytelling? Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a Creative Communications Specialist to develop and implement communication strategies to support our mission in Ukraine.

This position is to be based inKyiv, Ukraine and requires 30% of travel within Ukraine.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 73 650 UAH / month (based on previous experience + benefits).

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Communications and Visibility (25%):

  • Support the development and implementation of HFHI Ukraine’s communications and visibility plan, ensuring alignment with global and regional priorities.
  • Build and strengthen the Habitat for Humanity brand in Ukraine, promoting housing as a foundation for human dignity, opportunity, education, and economic growth.
  • Identify opportunities to promote HFHI’s work through campaigns, events, and digital storytelling.
  • Ensure all materials comply with HFHI’s branding, safeguarding, and ethical, gender- sensitive communications standards.

2. Storytelling and Content Development (25%):

  • Collect stories and testimonies from project sites that reflect HFHI’s mission, impact, and human -centered approach, tailored for different audiences (donors, general public, professional community, policy- and decision makers, etc.)
  • Write engaging content for social media, newsletters, reports, and web platforms in English and Ukrainian.
  • Assist in the preparation of press releases, articles, and donor communication materials.
  • Maintain and regularly update HFHI Ukraine’s social media channels and website (LinkedIn, Instagram and Youtube) and website.
  • Translate and edit communications products for consistency and clarity.

3. Multimedia Production (40%):

  • Capture and edit high quality photos and short videos that highlight project achievements and community stories.
  • Manage HFHI Ukraine’s photo and video library, ensuring all materials have appropriate consent documentation and are organized for easy access.
  • Support production of infographics and visual designs for reports and presentations.
  • Provide on-site coverage of key events, trainings, and field missions.

4. Coordination and Internal Communication (10%):

  • Work closely with the Program and Partnerships teams to integrate communications into project activities.
  • Liaise with HFHI’s Europe and Middle East (EME) Communications team for technical guidance, coordination, and content sharing.
  • Contribute to internal communication and learning efforts, sharing stories, updates, and materials across teams.

WHAT DO WE REQUIRE?

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media studies, Marketing and/or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2−3 years' experience in communications, public relations, marketing and/or media production in humanitarian/development sector
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills (print, digital, social media).
  • Proficiency in multimedia, editing and graphic tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, Capcut)
  • Knowledge of social media management and analytics tools
