I am First Class Master , Ukrainian, 46 years old, married, live in Odessa, Ukraine.
Fluent English, Russian, Ukrainian.
I had finished Odessa High Marine School in 1988. Since that time, I have been working as Third, Second and Chief Officer for Ukrainian shipowners until 1992. Within period 1992-1996, I have been working as Chief Officer for Greek shipping companies. I became a Master in 1996 and have being working as sea going Master for Greek shipowners until 2003.
During my sea service, I have received good experience as deck officer, cargo officer and Master as well onboard of general cargo vessels and bulk carriers DWT 15.000 - 65.000 MTS. I have a good successful experience of shipping, carriage the most of the types of general and bulk cargoes.
Since 2003, I work as Marine Superintendent for Greek Shipowning Company. I am Internal ISM and ISPS Codes Auditor, Company's Security Officer, Company Safety Officer, Deputy of DPA, Company’s representative in Ukraine.
I am familiar with ISM and ISPS Codes, Port State Control's and Coast Guard's inspections and their requirements, requirements of Flag States and Classification Societies and International Conventions. I learned Company’s QSM system very well. I know well Company’s policies, procedures and requirements.
As a Marine Superintendent, I take part in ships Special Surveys every year. I received rather good experience of ships repairs: they take place every 8-10 months (up to now - 9 surveys of different vessels within 30-65 days each one in China, Romania and Greece) with renewal of 200-800 MTS of steel, developed soft steel works, relevant load-line and safety repairs and maintenance. I took part in Conversion works (double hulling) of two chemical tankers.
Within Company’s fleet, I am responsible for crew management, vessel's inspections, internal audits and certifications, ISM and ISPS Codes matters, various external inspections matters, various ship’s paper works. Every second-third months I visit Company’s vessels with internal inspections and audits worldwide.
I supervise every Master’s handing-taking over command. I check Master’s General Accounts. Often I join vessels to train new Masters onboard.
I board vessel few weeks earlier of external inspection to follow up the final preparations and to make ship, crew ready for inspection.
I attend ship’s security assessments and certification.
I take part in the deliveries, selling and buying, beaching and scrapping, laid-up and re-activation of ships.
I attend vessels along Black sea coast, in Baltic countries and in Russia as well: agent services, crew and technical various matters - Company’s ships visit mentioned areas every second month. I provide technical maintenance and various repairs, spares and provisions supply matters onboard, crew changes, negotiation with local authorities, crew services and others – whatever is necessary for smooth ship’s service and non-stop vessel’s activity.
I hold the Company’s branch office in Odessa and represent Company in Ukraine.
Joining ship crews pass their pre-joining familiarization in Odessa office. I train crew in regards with Company’s QSM system, crew’s safety and security duties and professional responsibilities onboard.
I interview and select new joining senior officers. Familiarization of Masters, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers and Second Engineers take place in Odessa as well.
Joining Masters receive full and complete familiarization prior boarding vessel: Company’s policies, procedures and requirements, safety and security matters, navigational matter, commercial and accounts, crew management, confidential matters and others. Therefore, no need Master’s visits of Company’s headquarters in Greece.
Shortly result of my personal 6-years work at present position:
1.Successful ships working within mentioned period;
2.No any ship detention within Class, Port State Control, Flag or other external inspection;
3.No any major deficiency within last 6 years;
4.Successful implementation onboard of new international regulations and Conventions;
5.Successful ship’s various certifications;
6.Positive crew performance;
7.In accordance with Company’s policy, I selected personally, trained and familiarized 19 ex-Chief Officers (they are from other companies and earlier unknown to us) to Masters. Company employs all of just promoted Masters successfully;
