Providing emergency facilities management, statistic reporting/database management, anti-social abatement response, roads and lighting fault/emergency co-ordination and telecare service database management, emergency response and personnel co-ordination.
This role is varied and from this I have gleaned an ability to be dynamic and diverse in my approach to any problem. Within the role I identified a problem with how data was provided to us and created a new system for referrals of new clients which allowed for more efficient and streamlined data entry. During my time here I was invited to take study in an officially recognized customer service diploma. There are several colleagues that I have personally trained and mentored in my time here, who are now effective team members.

During this time there was major refurbishment of permanent way within Scotland and the UK as a whole. My team were responsible for the installation and renewal of rail infrastructure.
A high risk environment where communication and attention to detail were key. The work was often fast-paced, energetic and dangerous. Teamwork was a must, as was awareness of your surroundings.



Education
HNC Filmcraft and Animation / Motherwell College
This course combined academic knowledge as well as practical subjects with a leaning to work within animation, computer games and the film industry. I studied Graphics Design, 2D Animation, Digital Audio/Video, Life Drawing, Film Studies, Audio Visual Design for Filmmakers looking at film soundtracks.

NC Civil Engineering / Stow College
I joined this course to complement my work as Civil Engineering Technician after leaving school, to develop skills, knowledge and experience for work in the construction industry in areas such as construction, construction engineering, structural engineering and other specialist areas.


Activities
A complete food anorak. I love to cook for family and friends, challenging myself with recipes and methods from worldwide cuisines.
I play football (soccer) regularly. I am also a loyal (long-suffering) fan of my local team who rarely win. I had the honour of playing in their youth team some years ago.
A day without music would be torture. Whether commuting to work or at the gym, I have a playlist for every occasion. My friends organize a club night, travelling between bars and clubs, and I have DJ’d occasionally for them and also produce music.
My wife is a skilled shoemaker and some of her influence has seen me take up leatherworking as a hobby. From wallets to bags, I have completed many projects mainly as gifts for friends and family. I get a real buzz from taking these projects from idea to completion.
Recently, I have also taken up study of languages. My wife is a native Russian speaker. It has been a labour of love, literally. The nuances and idiosyncrasies of language interest me immensely.
