Twinning Railways - EU funded project

The European Commission is financing the Twinning Project EuropeAid/137801/DD/ACT/UA entitled «Support to the Ministry of Infrastructure in Establishing Conditions for Application of the European Model of Rail Transport Service Market in Ukraine».

The project is implemented by a Consortium between Spain, through the Spanish Ministry of Transports and Public Works, as leading partner and Lithuania, through the State Railway Inspectorate under the Ministry of Transport and Communications, as junior partner.

The project is to contribute in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in the development of policies for creation of a competitive railway market, establishment of safety requirements in the rail sector in line with the European norms and standards and integration of Ukrainian railway system into the Trans-European transport network. The foreseen implementation period is 21 months starting approximately in July 2016.
