Electrical Safety, Test, Reliability Services Engineer

1. REQUIREMENTS

PREFERABLY:

• English B1 or higher;
• background in electrical engineering, electronics engineering;
• basic electrical skills (multimeter use, power supplies use, elementary electricity knowledge from physics, connectivity of AC/DC voltage);
• strong skills in written communication via e-mail and documents, including but not limited to: ability to clearly and in short describe own point of view, ability to defend the own point of view, ability to write structured and well-aligned text).

ALTERNATIVELY:

• quality control (on production) or metrology;
• readiness to frequent business trips to Western Europe (around 20−30% of working time, usually 6−8 times per year) with possible future relocation to Denmark;
• experience in working with documentation;
• ability to work with documentation in English (experience could include not only real projects but diploma work, course work, etc.);
• ability to learn quickly tasks may vary a lot depending on particular product and customer.

NICE TO HAVE:

• experience in soldering, assembling of electrical or electronic devices;
• hobby related to electronics;
• knowledge of EU (EN)/US (UL)/UA (DSTU)/EAC/etc. standards, directives, regulations; related to electronics and electric apparatus;
• experience in quality management systems (eg. ISO9001);
• experience in working with any kind of test equipment (electrical, mechanical, climatic, etc.);
• experience in communicating with West-European, English-speaking (especially Scandinavian) customers/colleagues.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

• main area of responsibility: testing and/or assessing of electrical equipment and electronic devices;
• EMC testing;
• mainly electrical safety (Low Voltage Directive) assessment of the equipment under test;
• general electronics and mechanics safety assessment of the equipment under test;
• construction & assembly review of electrical equipment and electronic devices, consultancy and support to customers;
• case management of the approvals process at Notified Bodies (UL, CSA, Intertek, others) including: documentation, communication (voice/e-mail), facilitation of the proper information flow btw customer, Notified Body and EKTOS;
• daily communicating with management (located in Denmark) and customers (from Western Europe);
• working with different kinds of documentation (test reports, certificates of compliance, declarations of conformity, etc.);
• working with EU, US, etc. standards, legislative regulations (like OHSA) and directives;- mechanical, climatic and reliability testing;
