At ElcoSOL, we develop International and Domestic Shipment Management Solutions.

To help us build and maintain systems that satisfy customers' requirements, we’re looking for a Sysdmin/DevOps engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, troubleshooting production and development issues, while maintaining excellent security. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Java and SQL, and will work with developers and customers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

Objectives of this role

• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Maintaining existing tools and infrastructure
• Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Helping to trobleshoot, analyze results and examining code written by others
• Identifying technical problems and developing technical updates and fixes
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Responsibilities

• Deploy updates and fixes
• Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
• Required skills and qualifications
• Ability to learn and being open-minded
• Familiarity with Linux (kernel, distributions, etc)
• Familiarity with Linux containers (Docker, Podman, LXC, Kubernetes, etc)
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking (routing, firewall, DNS, etc)
• Familiarity with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure/certificates) and SSL/TLS
• Familiarity with SCM tools such as GIT and SVN
• Experience as a Sysadmin and/or DevOps engineer or similar role
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit

Preferred skills

• Software engineering experience
• Knowledge of Java and JVM
• Working knowledge of relational databases (such as MySQL, etc)
• Knowledge of Ansible (or Chef/Salt/etc)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
