We are now looking for an the Accountant (QuickBooks) is the financial backbone of accounting operations. This role ensures accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in financial records, reconciliations, and reporting. As the lead accounting specialist in the team, the Senior Accountant supports both compliance and strategy — balancing day-to-day ledger accuracy with strategic insights for budgeting, audits, and performance tracking.

Position VFP: An accurate, compliant, and up-to-date general ledger that supports timely financial reporting, strategic decision-making, and a well-coordinated junior accounting team.

• Position type: full-time, fully remote.
• Work schedule: 8.00 a.m. — 4.00 p.m. (Chicago time) / 4.00 p.m. — 00.00 a.m. (Kyiv time).

What we expect:

• Proven accounting experience, ideally in a service or operations-based business.
• High proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and audit preparation.
• Familiarity with financial dashboards, Excel/Google Sheets automation.
• Supervisory or mentoring experience.
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven.
• High integrity with confidential information.
• Strong critical thinking and reconciliation skills. Comfortable with cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent written communication (for remote clarity)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Core Accounting Operations: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with high accuracy. Oversee monthly and year-end close procedures. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries. Ensure proper classification of expenses and revenue.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance). Support the Finance Director with variance analysis and audit-ready statements. Assist in compiling reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and relevant regulations. Assist with tax filings and audit preparation. Maintain up-to-date documentation for all key processes and controls.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide oversight and support to Junior Accountant (s). Review and validate entries prepared by junior team members. Train and guide newer staff in financial processes and tools. Coordinate with Establishment, Recruitment and Operations teams for payroll entries and benefits reconciliation. Work closely with the Finance Data Analyst to validate data integrity.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and propose improvements. Help implement new tools, automations, or templates to streamline finance tasks. Support the transition to a more data-driven, technology-enabled accounting function.
