👉 European Action for Ukraine (EAU) is a grassroots advocacy organization that mobilizes European leadership to increase military, financial, and diplomatic support for Ukraine.
🎯 The organization’s mission is to ensure that European governments (particularly in the UK, Germany, and France) take decisive measures to protect Ukraine from aggression.
💪 The team works in key European capitals to build a coordinated movement for long-term peace and security on the continent. The EAU team is made up entirely of volunteers who work on a pro bono basis.
🧑🏼💻 EAU is looking for a SMM Manager to amplify its voice and expand its digital presence. In this important volunteer role, you will be the driving force behind online activities, curating and distributing high-impact content that informs, engages and mobilises followers across Europe. You will manage a complex network of 20 social media profiles focused on five distinct regions: UK, Germany, France, Rest of Europe and Ukraine.
💼 Key responsibilities.
- Content curation and strategy: Actively search for and curate compelling news, articles, and visual content related to the war in Ukraine, European defense policy, and EAU advocacy campaigns.
- Multi-regional posting: Manage the planning and publishing of content across 20 separate social media profiles. You will tailor content distribution for our five main regions: UK, Germany, France, Europe (EU wide) and Ukraine.
- Working with management tools: using social media management tools (including HootSuite and/or SmarterQueue) to effectively schedule posts and ensure a consistent flow of information across all time zones and regions.
- Audience engagement: Monitoring news feeds to identify engagement opportunities, share relevant partner content, and ensure alignment with mission narrative.
- Analytics (optional): Briefly monitor performance metrics to understand what content resonates best in each region, with the aim of improving your strategy.
💖 Requirements.
- Language skills: Fluent English is required. Knowledge of German, French or Ukrainian is a significant advantage, but not mandatory.
- Social media awareness: deep understanding of the major social platforms (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and the ability to optimize content for each of them.
- Technical skills: Experience with social media scheduling tools is a must. Knowledge of HootSuite and SmarterQueue would be a big advantage.
- Political awareness: broad interest and awareness in European politics, international relations, or the current geopolitical situation regarding Ukraine.
- Experience: Previous experience volunteering or working with non-profit/community organizations would be beneficial.
- Reliability: Ability to consistently commit 5−10 hours per week to work.
