Chief Accounting Manager

As the Chief Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the accounting close process, maintaining the general ledger, and overseeing key operational accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, you will directly support several operational accounting processes such as commissions tracking, payroll analysis, audit preparation, and contract-related financial tracking. Your experience with accounting operations and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting the company’s continued growth.

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations Oversight:

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoice processing and payment workflows.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and monitor collections activities to ensure timely payments.
• Lead preparation for external audits and ensure supporting documentation is organized and audit-ready.

Operational Accounting Responsibilities:

• Manage and review commission calculations and ensure accurate reporting.
• Support audit preparation by coordinating schedules, documentation, and auditor requests.
• Perform payroll analysis and review payroll-related accounting entries.
• Provide support for tax-related processes and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Significant experience as an accounting professional at the Chief Accounting Manager or Director level.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations, including financial close processes and general ledger management.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, collections, and bookkeeping functions.
• Public company accounting experience is valued.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working remotely and maintaining communication within the team during regular working hours (9−5 pm EST) with some flexibility.
