Bushrod Marine Products is a growing fisheries and marine operations company in Liberia, focused on building a reliable, modern, and professionally managed fishing fleet. The company currently operates two vessels and is implementing a structured expansion plan to increase fleet capacity over the coming years. Alongside fleet growth, Bushrod Marine Products is strengthening its technical standards, maintenance systems, and operational reliability to support sustainable and efficient marine operations.

To support this development, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Marine Engineer to take responsibility for the technical performance and maintenance of our vessels and support the expansion of our fleet. The position is shore-based.

Position Overview

The Marine Engineer will oversee the technical condition, maintenance planning, and operational readiness of our vessels. The role combines hands-on engineering supervision with structured maintenance planning and coordination with management during fleet expansion.

This position is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys building systems, improving reliability, and contributing to a growing maritime operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness and technical reliability of the company’s vessels
• Plan and supervise preventive maintenance and repair activities
• Monitor engine performance and onboard machinery condition
• Coordinate spare parts planning and inventory management
• Supervise repairs, overhauls, and dry-docking activities
• Support compliance with maritime safety and engineering standards
• Maintain technical documentation and maintenance records
• Assist management in technical evaluation and preparation of additional vessels for fleet expansion
• Support development of structured maintenance procedures as the fleet grows

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Experience working as Marine Engineer onboard fishing vessels, commercial vessels, or similar operations
• Practical knowledge of diesel engines, auxiliary systems, hydraulics, and vessel machinery, as well as freezer systems and factory lines
• Experience supervising maintenance teams is an advantage
• Ability to work independently in a developing operational environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken)

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with small to medium-sized fishing vessels (up to GRT 300)
• Experience supporting vessel acquisition or commissioning
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems
• Willingness to contribute to building technical structures in a growing company
