AI Engineer (Node.js)

Overview

We’re looking for a talented and detail-oriented engineer with strong experience in AI and Node/Express development. You’ll work with the product team to build AI assisted solutions.

Responsibilities

• Integrate AI services (LLMs — classification systems, zero-shot, text generation, etc) into new and existing application architectures
• Adjust, refine, and version AI prompts and workflows to improve accuracy, reliability, and real-world performance in production systems
• Collaborate with designers, peers, and management to deliver consistent user flows and experiences
• Thoroughly test and debug code, participate in code reviews, provide documentation, and ensure systems meet quality standards

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer
• Hands-on experience integrating AI or ML services into applications, including prompt design and iteration for LLM-based systems
• A thorough understanding of how model parameters change output
• Experience integrating third party APIs
• Strong proficiency with Node.js, Express, etc and building RESTful and event-driven backend services
• Comfortable working across multiple codebases and projects simultaneously
• Experience with databases (primarily SQL) and data modeling for real-world applications
• Attention to detail and strong testing experience

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of current AI models/services and their tradeoffs and advanced NLP techniques
• Experience fine tuning models and building advanced chat bots
• Familiarity with automated, testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and production debugging
