This is an opportunity to shape how data keeps humanitarians safe across more than 24 countries and contexts, leading the quality assurance of INSO core systems: the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC), the INSO Portal & App, as well as implementing harmonized Visualisation Standards across all teams.

Reporting to the Senior Information Manager, you’ll turn global data practices into clear standards, tools, and trainings that help INSO teams deliver services in complex environments. You’ll also cover for the Senior Information Manager during their absence and lead initiatives and exciting projects across the DTL department.

Main responsibilities

Manage the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC)

  • Build the tools and automations that catch errors early and keep data quality high, everywhere.
  • Deliver tool-related trainings, inductions, and webinars to Country Office teams and partners.

Manage the INSO Portal, App & Platforms

  • Become the global administrator of INSO Portal providing guidelines, driving consistent use, and leading feedback loops (intake and action) within all Country Offices.
  • Build and deliver inductions and trainings on core workflows: partner registration, user management, and support.
  • Ensure partner-centric approach in all platforms, communications, and documentation.

Implement and support INSO Visualisation Standards

  • Maintain Visualisation Standards guidelines, documents, and templates clear and up to date.
  • Support Country Offices in adopting the standards, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Automate ETL, dashboard, and mapping workflows to save time across all country offices.
  • Build and maintain ArcGIS templates and geodatabases to be used by all country offices.

Lead Global Coordination

  • Coordinate communication between Country Offices and HQ.
  • Resolve Helpdesk tickets and maintain the Information Management SharePoint site.
  • Contribute to onboarding, recruitment, and wider DTL projects.

  • Proficiency in database management using SQL.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R.
  • Basic GIS skills (QGIS or ArcGIS).
  • A knack for explaining technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Sharp attention to detail, with an understanding of conflict-affected contexts.
