Head of Finance (Defence Tech)

The Head of Finance will be responsible for building and managing the company’s financial infrastructure to support large-scale manufacturing operations, international growth, and execution of defence-sector contracts.

This role requires a hands-on finance executive with strong operational and strategic capabilities, capable of building scalable systems and ensuring financial stability during rapid growth.

The Head of Finance will work closely with the CEO, COO, legal advisors, auditors, banks, and operational teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in corporate finance, operational finance, or senior finance leadership roles. Experience as CFO, VP Finance, Head of Finance, or equivalent leadership position
• Strong understanding of financial operations, treasury management, and financial planning
• Experience working with manufacturing, hardware, defence-tech, or industrial businesses is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience building and implementing ERP, accounting, and operational reporting systems from the ground up, including process automation and integration across finance, procurement, manufacturing, and inventory management
• Experience managing international financial operations and multi-jurisdiction structures
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and internal controls
• Experience implementing scalable financial systems and reporting processes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Advanced English required
• Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, fast-changing environment

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

• Lead the company’s financial strategy and long-term financial planning
• Build scalable financial processes and internal controls to support rapid operational growth
• Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial modeling processes
• Support executive decision-making through financial analysis and operational insights
• Participate in strategic planning related to production scaling, international expansion, and operational efficiency
• Establish KPI systems and financial reporting frameworks for management and stakeholders

Financial Operations

• Oversee accounting, treasury, cash flow management, and financial reporting
• Ensure effective working capital management and liquidity planning
• Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of ERP, accounting, procurement, inventory, and financial reporting systems across the organization
• Monitor manufacturing economics, unit economics, and project profitability
• Supervise budgeting and cost-control processes across departments
• Develop scalable financial and operational reporting processes
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of management and statutory reporting

International Structuring & Compliance

• Coordinate international corporate structuring and cross-border financial operations
• Oversee tax planning and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with Ukrainian and international financial regulations
• Manage banking, audit, and regulatory compliance processes
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and financial institutions
• Support implementation and monitoring of internal compliance procedures and controls

Government & Defence Contracting

• Support execution of government defence procurement contracts
• Manage financial aspects of state procurement frameworks and treasury-controlled financing mechanisms
• Monitor contract execution economics, production financing, and operational margins
• Ensure financial transparency and proper reporting for institutional counterparties
• Coordinate financial planning related to long-lead component procurement and production cycles
• Support operational scaling aligned with defence procurement timelines and delivery schedules

Nice to Have

• Experience in defence-tech or dual-use technologies
• Experience with export-oriented manufacturing businesses
• Familiarity with government procurement and defence contracts
• Big 4, consulting, or industrial finance background
