Fleet Operations Manager (US Trucking)

We’re not looking for a dispatcher with a bigger title. We’re looking for someone who owns the fleet.

We are the founders of Ameriland Transport, a logistics company scaling rapidly in the US freight market. We’re looking for a Fleet Operations Manager — the person who makes sure every truck and trailer in our fleet is road-ready, accounted for, and moving, no matter what comes up.

This is a role for someone who treats the fleet like it’s their own — who doesn’t wait for a breakdown to become a crisis, who tracks equipment like it’s money (because it is), and who builds a system so nothing falls through the cracks, even as we scale from 50+ to 100+ trucks.

What you’ll own

Rental Truck & Trailer Reservation & Assignment

• Source, reserve, and assign rental trucks and trailers as fleet needs arise
• Keep rentals road-ready: registrations, plates, and paperwork current and compliant
• Track rental utilization and make sure assignments match actual driver and route needs

Truck & Trailer Breakdown & Maintenance Assistance

• Be the first point of contact when a truck or trailer breaks down — coordinate roadside assistance, recoveries, and repairs promptly
• Minimize downtime by managing vendors, shops, and towing services efficiently
• Keep drivers informed and moving again as fast as possible

Owner-Operator Equipment Tracking & Return

• Track equipment assigned to owner-operators throughout their time with the company
• Manage the return process when an owner-operator leaves or swaps equipment
• Keep accurate, up-to-date records of what equipment is where, and with whom

Preventive Maintenance & Random Inspection Tracking

• Build and run a preventive maintenance schedule so issues get caught before they become breakdowns
• Track random inspections and make sure the fleet stays compliant and audit-ready
• Flag recurring issues and push for fixes at the root cause, not just the symptom

Maintenance Records & Repair Documentation

• Maintain complete, organized records for every repair, inspection, and maintenance event
• Ensure documentation is accurate and easy to retrieve for audits, insurance, or compliance needs
• Use maintenance data to spot trends and reduce future breakdowns and costs

Parking & General Fleet Logistics

• Secure reliable parking solutions for trucks and trailers as the fleet grows
• Handle day-to-day fleet needs promptly, so nothing sits waiting for a decision

Why this role exists

• The fleet is growing fast, and right now too much depends on reactive, one-off fixes
• We need someone who turns «put out fires» into «the fires don’t start» — through tracking, process, and follow-through
• We want every truck, trailer, and piece of equipment accounted for, at all times, by one person who owns the full picture

Who we’re looking for

• 3+ years of experience in fleet operations, fleet management, or truck/trailer maintenance coordination in the US trucking industry
• Real, hands-on experience managing breakdowns, recoveries, and maintenance schedules — not just reading reports about them
• Strong organizational skills — you can track dozens of trucks, trailers, and repair records without losing the thread
• A proactive mindset: you catch problems before they escalate, not after
• Comfortable managing vendors, shops, and service providers, and negotiating for speed and cost
• KPI- and results-driven, with a habit of clear documentation and reporting
• Confident English — you’ll coordinate directly with drivers, vendors, and US-based partners
• A fast learner who takes ownership immediately, without waiting for instructions

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements for equipment and inspections
• Experience with fleet management or maintenance-tracking software
• Background working with owner-operators specifically (equipment assignment, onboarding/offboarding)

Work conditions

• Full-time: Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM — 12:00 AM (Kyiv time)
• Salary: based on experience + performance bonuses — details discussed individually
• A probation period built around real tasks — we want to see action, not promises
• Fully remote, with clear ownership of the fleet function and real autonomy
